Kangaroo Island Visitor Guide : 2018-2019 Kangaroo Island Visitor Guide
78 79 Useful information Kangaroo Island is protected through conservation zoning, wildlife reserves and Heritage listings. It’s also protected for the simple reason that Island people are dedicated to keeping it special, for locals and visitors alike. The reason you visit is the same reason residents love to live here. Developed in 1997, The Kangaroo Island Tourism Optimisation Management Model uses a Visitor Exit Survey and a biannual Resident Survey to monitor the long-term health of Kangaroo Island as a tourism destination by measuring a series of environmental, social, experiential and economic indicators. This globally recognised approach provides a raft of information about the positive and negative effects tourism has on Kangaroo Island and allows us to make better decisions regarding the health of Kangaroo Island as a tourism destination. You can assist us to continue this valuable program by completing a Visitor Exit Survey on your departure from Kangaroo Island. Hard copies of the surveys can be found at the Kangaroo Island Gateway Visitor Information Centre, at the Kangaroo Island Airport, on all Sealink Ferries or alternatively online. It only takes a couple of minutes to complete and provides us with invaluable information. All completed survey participants go into a draw to win $500 of Kangaroo Island Produce delivered to your door.
